Official Bio:

Dr. SG Gettman, ND (they/them)

I am a dedicated and compassionate naturopathic doctor who helps individuals create and sustain their own sunny path of wellness. I combine my extensive naturopathic medical training with my experiences as an art instructor and outdoor educator to be a truly integrative provider.

I believe in the magic of each person and aim to walk alongside my patients to help them attain their goals for health, well-being, and life fulfillment.

My passion lies in helping individuals with mental health concerns, pelvic pain, recurrent UTIs, adrenal fatigue and burnout, vector-bourne illnesses including Lyme disease, seasonal allergies, and other immune dysfunctions, including Long-COVID return to their optimal well-being and vitality.

I have significant experience in working with the LGBT+ community, specifically in supporting transgender folks in transition using a trauma-informed and informed-consent model. I have also practiced extensively within the addiction, sobriety, and harm-reduction space, using both traditional and non-traditional methods.

I aim to integrate the best of modern medicine and traditional healing wisdom by employing a wide range of treatment modalities, including natural supplementation, botanical medicine preparations, diet and lifestyle changes, homeopathy, and gemstone therapies.  When appropriate, I also prescribe medication based on the scope of the state.

I received my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from Sonoran University of Health Sciences (previously Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine), Master of Arts in Teaching from George Washington University, and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Corcoran College of Art & Design (now part of George Washington University.) I am also a proud alumna of Emma Willard School.

I have had additional training in pelvic pain conditions and recently completed the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) Pelvic Pain 6-month course. I have completed numerous gemstone therapy trainings with Dr. Sara Hazel. I am also a yoga teacher training 200-hr graduate in Baptiste Power Yoga. I am a member of the American Academy of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), International OCD Foundation, OutHealth, and am an ongoing volunteer with Trans Queer Pueblo (TQP) in their medical clinic as an attending physician and preceptor.

Prior to my naturopathic education, I worked as an art educator with a focus on ceramics and an outdoor educator throughout the United States. I bring my creative thinking, empathy, love of the natural world, and experience with a wide diversity of folks to every patient interaction, visit, and treatment plan.
